Kyo Sa Trudgill is an instructor in the Treorchy, Briton ferry and Baglan schools of Tang Soo Do
Name: Rank: 3rd Dan Position at School: Do Jang Manager. assistant instructor Years in Martial Arts: 12 Accomplishments or Awards: Although I have been successful on the tournament scene as a colour belt and black belt representing the UK at the 5th and 6th World ITF Championships these are not my greatest achievements in my martial arts career . I have Brittle Asthma so feel my greatest accomplishment is to still be training after 2 visits to the Life Support machine at Bridgend hospital and surviving !!!!! so I now train when my health, allows with as much commitment as had did whilst a beginner. I returned to the competitive arena to compete at the 2006 International ' NEW YORK CLASSIC' Championships and came away with 1st Place Weapons, 2nd Place Breaking. I was absolutely thrilled not with winning but being able to take part. as, even up to the day of competition I have to play things by ear and drop out if I am not up to it. I never would have believed ten years ago that I would one day be standing in front of a class teaching and to do that is just incredible what better achievement could I have accomplished . I had Knee reconstruction Surgery in September 2007 and after intense physiotherapy I managed to compete and win a silver medal in breaking in the 2008 All Tang Soo Do Championships in Boston, and also won a silver medal in Forms and a Bronze medal in breaking at the 2008 International Championships in Wales.Recently i have just returned from competing at the New York Central Classic Open and won a 3rd Place in Breaking and a 3rd Place at the BTSDF Championships in Coventry. I am qualified as a Licensed SAQ trainer . Favourite
Technique:
Roundhouse kick. Favorite Form: I saw my instructor perform Kong Sang Koon in a tournament many years ago and thought it was the best form I have ever seen; a form that if performed well is fantastic and when I watch people like my instructor and Mr. Scott Richards demonstrate it it still makes me awestruck. At the moment I am still trying to learn it so for now my favorite form that I love to do is Bassai Dae Most Influential Martial Artist: My instructor Master John Trudgill is a constant source of inspiration and determination for me he is someone who has driven me and has given me the belief in myself to perform and to teach. I constantly try to emulate his technique and teaching methods with the hope that one day I will be THAT GOOD Oh What a Goal , I have also been influenced by fellow girlie Master Sian Humphries. All those that know us are aware that we are slightly lacking in the weak and feeble female stakes but my goodness we can punch. Other
Hobbies: I
Love fitness work such as rowing and weights a passion that is also
restricted to as and when I can. I love riding my motorbike a matt black
Suzuki GSXR 600 I revert back to big kid get all excited. I
really
enjoy walking but feel a bit of a berk without a dog.
Last
Book Read:
I
read two books in a row so it was like one book as I got so into the Da Vinchi
Code as soon as I put that book down I picked up the follow up book Angels and Demons (Dan Brown). Favorite Book: I like crime fiction, I love Martina Cole . Always a strong female character, loads of violence with gangs etc....also true crimes fascinated at the psychology of the criminal mind Last Film Watched: Hitch. It was very funny. I like uncomplicated light relief films to watch around the house. Favorite Movie: Not really a movie buff so don't watch that many. If forced to choose it would be Grease for nostalgic reasons....I had the perm, sung the songs, bought the trousers back in the day. Favorite Meal: I suppose it would have to be pasta with a sauce on it and a house salad ciabatta bread . Pet: I have always been a dog lover grown up with them all my life but unfortunately due to my health we no longer have any pets, but at one time we had quite a menagerie including: 2 rabbits, 2 Great Danes and a Buzzard. attracting some looks two dogs that looked like small cows and a bird of prey that thought he was a chicken cross dog he was often to lazy to fly so would follow us around the field on foot just like a chicken
